About Kassanndra Santiago
Kassanndra Santiago is a first-generation Mexican and Afro-Caribbean organizer and community leader who has spent the last six years doing grassroots work across Orange County. Having lived in Pine Hills for the past decade, this work is deeply personal to her. Her focus is simple and rooted in lived experience improving the quality of life for her neighbors.
As Co-Director of Development at Las Semillas, she has helped build connections and expand resources for LGBTQ+, immigrant, disabled, and working-class communities that are too often left out of local decision-making. She has also served on the Orange County Disability Advisory Board and organized initiatives like the LGBTQ+ Town Hall for Pine Hills and West Orlando, always centering the voices of those most impacted.
Now running for Orange County, Florida's Soil and Water District 3, Kassanndra is bringing that same community-first leadership into local government. Her campaign is grounded in making sure every resident has access to clean water and that neighborhoods are not left behind when it comes to flooding and outdated infrastructure. She is committed to protecting Central Florida’s water resources while advancing sustainable tourism that strengthens the economy without harming the environment. She is also focused on building a more resilient future by addressing real risks like sinkholes and ensuring development is done responsibly to protect people, homes, and land.
At the same time, she believes deeply in investing in community power. Kassanndra is working to grow an ecosystem of backyard warriors neighbors who have the tools and support to grow their own food, share resources, and build more self-sufficient and connected communities.
At its core, this campaign is about making sure the people who live here now and have long called this place home can live safely, sustainably, and with dignity.
